Hyundai maps come in two formats: a USB drive (newer models) and a „Turn by Turn” CD set (cars up to 2010). First you need to determine which system you have, so you can call us for advice before you come.

What people get wrong about Hyundai maps

Myth. If the navigation works, there is no need to update the map. In reality. The navigation may work perfectly but still show an old road network. The age of the map and the condition of the system are different things.
Myth. One map set fits all Hyundai cars. In reality. Versions depend on the model and year of manufacture, so the first step is to determine which system is installed.
Myth. Updating the maps also fixes system faults. In reality. Maps only change the data. If the screen, reader or GPS receiver is causing problems, diagnostics are needed.

How to tell that your Hyundai map is out of date

The simplest sign is when the navigation routes you through a place where a roundabout already stands or a new section of motorway has been built. Another sign is that new streets are not recognised and traffic management changes are not reflected.

In older systems the map does not update by itself, so over time the differences become more and more noticeable. This is not a fault; the data simply stopped at the moment it was installed.

Is it worth updating an old Hyundai navigation

If the car’s multimedia system works and only new roads are missing, updating the maps is usually a smarter choice than buying an additional navigation device or replacing the entire head unit. The map sets cover Lithuania (in detail) and most of Europe.

However, if the screen does not respond or the system keeps rebooting, maps alone are not enough. In that case diagnostics come first, and we will decide on further steps together with you.
