Below are the symptoms, described in the words people most often use when they contact us. The cord and the inside of the appliance should be checked only by a service technician: inside there is mains voltage and a heating element, so do not take the housing apart.
01from 20 €
The iron does not heat up or does not heat
WhyMost often it is a burnt-out thermostat, a broken cord near the inlet or a damaged heating element. In steam models, the control board is sometimes to blame.
Check yourselfCheck that the socket works (plug another appliance into it). Leave checking the cord and the interior to the service point.
What we doWe measure the circuit, determine which element has interrupted the heating, and replace the thermostat, cord or heating element.

The steam iron no longer produces steam
WhyThe most common cause is limescale in the steam vents and channels, especially if tap water has been used. Sometimes the valve is clogged or the steam pump does not work.
Check yourselfCheck that there is water in the tank, that a sufficient temperature is set and that the steam regulator is switched on. Use water according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
What we doWe remove limescale from the steam channels and chamber, check the valve and the pump, and replace the faulty part.
03from 20 €
The iron drips water and dampens clothes
WhyWater drips when the soleplate temperature is too low for steam, when the gasket is worn or when the valve is clogged with limescale.
Check yourselfWait until the iron is fully heated before switching on the steam. Do not fill water above the mark.
What we doWe check the valve, gasket and steam chamber, and clean or replace faulty parts.
04from €20
The iron overheats or its temperature fluctuates
WhyThis is a typical thermostat fault: the contacts stick and the heating no longer switches off. The fabric turns brown or even starts to smoulder, even at a low temperature.
Check yourselfUnplug it from the socket and stop using it. Do nothing else; bring it to the service point.
What we doWe replace the thermostat or temperature regulator, then check that the soleplate temperature matches the set one.
05from 35 €
The steam iron switches off by itself
WhyThe overheat fuse may fail, or a contact in the cord or on the control board may come loose. Sometimes the iron switches off because of an excessive limescale layer in the steam chamber.
Check yourselfCheck whether it is set to switch off automatically after a couple of minutes of inactivity – many newer models behave this way.
What we doWe check the fuse, connections and board, re-solder broken contacts or replace the faulty component.
06from 15 €
Damaged iron cord or power connector
WhyThe cord breaks near the inlet because we constantly pull and twist the iron. Damaged insulation poses a direct risk of electric shock and fire.
Check yourselfIf you see cracked insulation, heating near the inlet or sparking, do not plug the iron in and bring it to the service point.
What we doWe replace the cord or connector with a suitable equivalent and check the insulation and operation.
07from 15 €
The iron leaves brown stains on clothes
WhyStains are most often left by flakes of limescale and rust escaping with the steam. The soleplate may also be damaged or have fabric residue stuck to it.
Check it yourselfUse water according to the manufacturer’s instructions and run the cleaning function regularly, if your iron has one. Clean the soleplate only when it is cold.
What we doWe clean the steam system and the inside of the chamber and, if necessary, replace the valve or soleplate parts.
08from 35 €
The iron does not turn on, the indicator light does not come on
WhyMost often the cause is the cord, a fuse or the control board; less often, the power switch itself or a broken contact in the handle.
Check it yourselfTry another socket. If the indicator light still does not come on, do not open the appliance and bring it to the service centre.
What we doWe measure the power circuit, check the board, and replace the cord or an electronic component.
09from 30 €
The iron’s steam pump is noisy or no longer pumps
WhySome steam models have a vibration pump. When worn, it makes a loud rushing noise, and when clogged with limescale, it no longer builds up pressure.
Check it yourselfMake sure the tank contains water and is firmly seated. No other checks are needed.
What we doWe clean or replace the pump, check the hose and connections, and test the steam flow.
