A Toyota navigation map update is a simple way to revive a system that does not know about new roads, roundabouts or bypasses. We update maps for Toyota systems that run from an SD card, CD or hard disk drive (HDD). In most variants the map of Lithuania is detailed, and we select the exact variant according to your system.

On this page you will find which map variant suits your model and what to bring to the service point. If your car is a different make, see the navigation update page.

  • How much does the update cost? The price depends on the type of system (card, CD or HDD). We tell you in advance and agree on it before the work.
  • Which Toyota systems do you update? TNS300, TNS310, TNS350, TNS410, TNS510, TNS600, TNS700, HDD systems and Toyota Denso Gen 2–5 systems.
  • Will Lithuania be detailed? In most variants the map of Lithuania is detailed; we check the exact variant according to the system.
  • What warranty is provided? We provide a 12-month warranty for map updates. If the system is not working because of another fault, initial diagnostics cost 10 €.

How to tell that your Toyota navigation needs an update or repair

An old map is not always to blame. Here is what we most often hear at the reception desk.

01

Toyota navigation does not show new roads and roundabouts

WhyThe map is outdated. New culverts, bypasses and intersections simply don’t exist in it.

Check it yourselfCheck the map version in the system settings menu – the release year is usually shown there.

What we doWe install a new map version with detailed Lithuania and Europe, matching your system type.

02

The navigation displays „SD card not recognised”

WhyThe card is damaged or was written for the wrong model. Sometimes the slot itself is at fault.

Check it yourselfDo not touch the card slot or take the navigation apart – bring the car or the card to the service centre.

What we doWe check the card, rewrite the map and verify that the system detects it.

0310 €

Toyota navigation is not working – it doesn’t show my location

WhyIt may not be the map, but the GPS antenna, its cable or the navigation unit itself.

Check it yourselfIf the problem persists, start with a 10 € diagnostic.

What we doWithin 1–2 working days we determine whether the problem is software or hardware related, and tell you the price before the repair.

04

The CD navigation does not read the disc

WhyOlder TNS300, TNS600 or Gen 4–5 systems use several CDs. Discs get scratched, and the reader lens gets dusty.

Check it yourselfCheck that the disc is not scratched and is inserted the right way up. Different CDs are intended for different countries.

What we doWe assess whether it is worth replacing the discs or switching the system to a different map option.

0510 €

HDD navigation loads slowly or shows an error

WhyThe hard drive in 2009–2013 Avensis, Prius and Land Cruiser systems can slow down with age. The error may also be caused by a corrupted part of the map data.

Check it yourselfDo not take anything apart yourself – the drive and the system must be assessed by a technician.

What we doWe diagnose the drive and the map data, then install a new version or tell you what is worth repairing.

06

No detailed map of Lithuania, or a country is missing

WhyOnly a partial set is installed – for example, a CD without the Baltic states or with Western Europe only.

Check it yourselfLook at which countries are available in the system’s map menu.

What we doWe select an option with detailed Lithuania and the countries you need.

What people get wrong about Toyota navigation

  • Myth. If the navigation shows the wrong information, it has to be replaced. In reality. Newer maps are often enough. The hardware itself is worth checking only if the problem persists after the update.
  • Myth. Any Toyota map will do. In reality. No. The card, CD or HDD must match the system type and year, otherwise the navigation will not recognise it.
  • Myth. Updating the maps also fixes all navigation faults. In reality. No. If the GPS antenna, cable or navigation unit is failing, a map update is not enough – diagnostics are needed.

Which Toyota system is in your car

The available map version depends on the model and year of manufacture. Below is what we can update, by system type.

If you do not know which system is installed, call us and tell us the model and year – we will help you identify it.

  • TNS350, TNS410, TNS510 – from a memory card, with detailed Lithuania and full Europe. TNS410 is common in the Auris, Avensis, Corolla, Hilux, RAV4, Yaris, Verso and Land Cruiser 150/200.
  • TNS300, TNS310, TNS600, TNS700 – CD systems, found in various Toyota cars from 2004–2012 (Avensis, Yaris, RAV4, etc.).
  • HDD systems – Avensis, Prius and Land Cruiser from 2009–2013.
  • Denso Gen 2–5 – Toyota models (Camry, Highlander, Sienna, Prius, Land Cruiser, etc.) from 2001–2009.
  • For some CD and Denso system variants, a set covering only Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Russia is available.

Before you come in, you can take a photo of the navigation screen with the menu – it will help us identify the system type faster.

SD card with maps for Toyota navigation

When an update is enough and when an inspection is needed

If the system works but the map is outdated, it is usually enough to install a new map version that matches your system type.

If the navigation no longer turns on, does not show your location or displays an error, we first carry out a 10 € diagnostic. If the navigation unit is faulty, an inspection and price agreement are required. We write about navigation requirements on the road in this article.

What to bring to the service point

  • Car model and year of manufacture
  • The SD card from the navigation system or CDs, if you have them
  • The navigation PIN code, if the system asks for it
  • A note on what is shown on the screen and since when the system has been malfunctioning
  • A phone number so we can agree on the price and timeframe

A few more questions about Toyota navigation

Can Toyota navigation maps be updated for free?

At our service point, we tell you the map update price in advance and agree on it before the work begins. The price depends on the system type.

Does the navigation work without the internet?

Usually yes. The maps for these Toyota systems are stored on an SD card, CD or hard drive, so they do not need a constant connection.

Will it be displayed in Lithuanian?

The language depends on the system menu. On the map, street names are displayed as they are recorded in the map.

Can I choose the maps myself?

The map must match the system type and year, otherwise the navigation will not recognise it. If you are unsure, call us for advice or visit your nearest service point.
