What people get wrong about Citroen maps

  • Myth. Any Citroen map will fit. In fact. The map depends on the system, not just on the model. An unsuitable file may fail to launch.
  • Myth. A phone will replace the built-in navigation. In fact. A phone is convenient, but the built-in system works without the internet and without a charged phone.
  • Myth. The update will erase my settings. In fact. A map update usually does not affect the audio or car settings, but it is worth writing down your saved addresses.

Which Citroen navigation system your car has

The map is chosen according to the system, not just the model. The same C5 has different systems in different years, so a map from another car may simply fail to launch. According to our list:

  • eMyWay RT6, SMEG, SMEG+, SMEG6 – C3, DS3, C3 Picasso, C4, C4 Picasso, DS4, C5, DS5, C8, Berlingo, Jumpy (approximately 2010–2015).
  • MyWay (WipNav) – C3, DS3, C3/C4 Picasso, C4/C5/C8, Berlingo, Jumpy.
  • WipCom 3D NaviDrive and NaviDrive HDD (Mitsubishi MMCS) – C5 from 2009.
  • NaviDrive WIP Com, Connect Com RT4–RT5 – C4 2007–2008, C4 Picasso from 2007, C5 2006–2010, C6, C8, Jumper (from 2006–2007).
  • NaviDrive RT3 – C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, C8, Jumper (approximately 2001–2008).
  • Dayton VDO CD – C5 until June 2003, with a large color screen.

If you don’t know the name of your system, bring the car in – the technician will identify it from the screen and menu.

Is it worth updating an old Citroen map

An old map doesn’t know about new bypasses, intersections and changed traffic layouts, so you may miss a turn or take a longer route. If the system itself works, a map update is usually the simplest solution – there is no need to replace the whole unit.

A phone with an offline map or Waze is a good supplement, but it doesn’t replace the built-in system when there is no internet or the phone’s battery is dead.

All service points are open Mon–Fri 9:00–18:00, closed on weekends.

  • The vehicle registration certificate showing the year and model
  • A photo or note of the navigation menu name
  • Your important addresses saved

How a Citroen map update works

  1. Bring in your car. Come to the nearest service point (Mon–Fri 9:00–18:00, closed on weekends) or call first to discuss the system.
  2. We identify the system. The technician recognizes the type of Citroen navigation and selects the suitable map.
  3. We agree on the price. We tell you the price and timeframe, and work begins only with your consent.
  4. We install the map. We update the map and check that the system works.

Can the navigation of a 2012 Citroen C4 be updated?

Yes, according to the list, the C4 [2011–2015] belongs to the eMyWay RT6 / SMEG group. The technician determines the exact version from the screen.

How can I update my car’s navigation myself?

Most systems require the right map file and a prepared storage medium, and an unsuitable file can disrupt the navigation. That’s why it is safer to contact a service point.

Do you update the C5 Aircross or newer Citroens?

These models are not in our list. Call us and tell us the car’s year and system – we will let you know whether we can help.

Will the map cover the whole of Europe?

Yes, the list includes detailed Lithuania, neighbouring countries and most of Europe. For the oldest systems, the maps are split into discs by country.
